We don't know the mechanism for the ice ages but the recent ones have been periodic at about every 100,000 years.

One clue comes from the Moon appearing from Earth, visually, as the same size as the Sun.

     That gives us eclipses.

It's possible that there is a heavenly body in an orbit that takes it far out of the solar system but comes back and moves in such a way as to partially shield the Earth from the Sun for enough time to bring it about.

      The gravitational pulls of the Sun and the Earth help to keep that shielding body in position and in place for enough time as it moves along together with the Earth until it eventually resumes its travel back out of the solar system.

                       That's real climate change.

Sea levels fall as rains from the oceans turn to snow and ice on land and don't flow back to the sea. Land masses become covered with ice.

Geologists' best prediction of the next ice age is only 1500 years away. We'd better have enough heat sources. Don't worry, HaShem has blessed us with a virtually infinite supply of hydrocarbon molecules that form solid, liquid and gaseous fuels from the bowels of the Earth. A blocked Sun won't affect that supply of energy.

They have a 90% consensus, that the recent 1 to 1.5 degC change in the last 100 years (doesn't sound much, eh?! This wonderful method called "science" can now detect Exoplanets of Stars many Parsecs (look it up) away from us - not a trivial job. (*) Let's do a little thing that scientists call "thought experiment". Suppose you want to fly somewhere, and you have 3 options: one is a regular airplane, built by engineers who use the scientific method that I described above. The 2nd option is a vehicle made by Yeshiva Bukhers, who believe that it's a waste of time to go to a technical school, because their Rabbis told them that all the wisdom is already in their Gemara. The 3rd option is a device built by people who believe that the Earth is flat, or that making statements about the climate doesn't require any research - wishful thinking will do just fine.

Now, I ask you to answer this question with the most honesty: which vehicle would you choose to fly?

The use of the Bombs was mostly a message to the USSR - don't mess with us after the war.

They are not Israeli citizens, and they don't vote to any political entity. They are people with no control of their lives - a unique case in democratic countries.

The Muslims in France are a headache, but - they are citizens with full rights. If they turn France into a Muslim country - too bad maybe, but this has nothing to do with the fact that all French have the right to decide on that, regardless of their religion. That's democracy, albeit not a perfect one.

Regarding condemning Arab states, or China - you didn't get my point.

THOSE ARE NOT DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES! Nobody expects them to act democratically, and there is no public opinion in those countries to be influenced by international pressure (at least, not in the same way as there is on democratic countries). That's the difference, get it?!...

You are justifying one evil by another, while we who live in democracies, are trying to fix the evil. But, all isn't lost, because the same goal that was intended to be achieved via a conviction in the Senate, namely, to prevent him from holding any elected office in the future, can be reached by using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.  The beauty of this process is that approval of a resolution to apply Section 3 of the 14th Amendment requires only a majority vote, not a super-majority of 2/3-rds that is required for conviction in an impeachment trial.

Incidentally, Shoshanah and I have a wonderful, large kitchen with lots of pantry space and counters arranged for efficient separations of milchig, fleishig and pareve.

      We have begun to stock up on pantry storable foods, taking the hint from the toilet paper, paper towel & cleanser crises.  Venezuela may be coming.

Also increasing the percent of gold-related holdings in our liquid portfolio.  Looks to me like the pros are accumulating.

Devaluation is not too far away.  Not just from our enormous and skyrocketing debt, we have to have currency par with China.

Incidentally, the Democrats are now opposed to "feminism".

Their school lockdowns are forcing mothers to stay at home, away from hunting predators.

I know a good amount of Democrats use this phrase to stand on a moral platform.  Do they also realize that when they do so, they are encouraging Jews to return to Israel, the exact opposite of BDS?

FYI, and with all due respect to you, the person who quoted that portion of the verse, Norman Cohen, is an Orthodox Jew who claims he "knows it all".  I disagree with his politics, which isn't the problem.  What I really disagree with him and some others on this list, excluding you, is their behavior on it: the nasty name-calling, the ad-hominem attacks, and their claim of piety when it is, in fact, false piety.

I know exactly what the entire verse means and can even provide extensive commentary on it, which is the reason I only quoted the phrase that was used by Mr. Cohen for the purpose of demonstrating the hypocrisy of using it.
