Look at a map of Russia.

NATO members Latvia and Estonia are on Russia's

extreme northern border.  But Russia can live with that

because those borders are very small and far north.

       NATO member Lithuania borders Belarus, not Russia.

       Putin does not have to worry about Belarus because

       Belarus is in Putin's pocket.

South of Belarus, the next Russian border is with Ukraine.

      That is a large border aimed at Russia's belly.

It is in Russia's vital interest that Ukraine not be part of NATO

or in any close alliance with the West.

Some NATO countries are opposed to such a relationship with

Ukraine because of the tensions that would cause --- tensions

that would outweigh any benefit.

Trump had a good relationship with Putin.  They respected and

trusted each other.   Trump could guarantee that Ukraine would

not be a part of NATO.  So there was no trouble. 

     Trouble began to brew with Obama-Biden because Putin neither

respects nor trusts him, Putin sees weakness in him, and Putin also

sees that Obama-Biden doesn't care about his own border.

With no guarantees, Putin had to act to protect Russia's vital interest.

I do not believe that Putin has grandiose schemes to restore the USSR

or the old Russian Empire.  Such a notion is, in my view, propaganda

by our leftist media whose bugaboos are Trump and Putin.  They even

make up phony Trump-Putin alliances to further Democrat Party aims.

       I'm not saying that Putin is a good guy.  He's not.

       But I can understand world realpolitik and vital interests.

       That understanding is another good thing about Trump.

This war will end when

      - Ukraine gets a new government that is as friendly as Belarus;

      - or Putin gets guarantees that Ukraine will not be a part of any

         western alliance.

It is unlikely that Ukraine will prevail.

Putin is giving Ukraine every chance to negotiate the guarantee that

he wants.

The "sanctions" are not enough to hurt Russia.

      They and the war may wind up hurting us more.

It does not follow that Taiwan is in danger.

      Taiwan presents entirely different considerations and problems

for Xi than exist for Putin.

We don't know the mechanism for the ice ages but the recent ones have been periodic at about every 100,000 years.

One clue comes from the Moon appearing from Earth, visually, as the same size as the Sun.

     That gives us eclipses.

It's possible that there is a heavenly body in an orbit that takes it far out of the solar system but comes back and moves in such a way as to partially shield the Earth from the Sun for enough time to bring it about.

      The gravitational pulls of the Sun and the Earth help to keep that shielding body in position and in place for enough time as it moves along together with the Earth until it eventually resumes its travel back out of the solar system.

                       That's real climate change.

Sea levels fall as rains from the oceans turn to snow and ice on land and don't flow back to the sea. Land masses become covered with ice.

Geologists' best prediction of the next ice age is only 1500 years away. We'd better have enough heat sources. Don't worry, HaShem has blessed us with a virtually infinite supply of hydrocarbon molecules that form solid, liquid and gaseous fuels from the bowels of the Earth. A blocked Sun won't affect that supply of energy.

The 3rd option is a device built by people who believe that the Earth is flat, or that making statements about the climate doesn't require any research - wishful thinking will do just fine.

Now, I ask you to answer this question with the most honesty: which vehicle would you choose to fly?

I am no genius and certainly no expert on international diplomacy, but the simplicity of this solution seems obvious to me. If it takes an internal civil war among faction of the West Bank and Gazan Arabs, so be it. Your "only question" is disengenuous. Why do "we" have to do anything wiyj "them". Let "them" do for themselves.

With the classification of a state as being free and democratic, come many benefits in the form of inter-state relations, commerce, defense treaties, mutual diplomatic support, science and technology cooperation, etc. With the benefits, come responsibility and commitment to be really democratic.

Jews have flourished under Muslim regimes, for the better part of 7 centuries (with a few intermissions - it's history, not exact science), in what is know as the Golden Era for the Jews under the Islam (most of the years 711 - 1492).

If it was not for the Muslim mathematicians, physicians and philosophers - all the treasures of ancient Greece would have been lost, thanks to the Catholic church which was not in favor of scientific advancement.

It was Christianity (the ancestors of your friends in the Bible Belt...) who caused the Jews the most of troubles, killing millions of them (and not "just" thousands like some Muslims, sometimes).

Regarding the civil rights - I will attribute your lack of knowledge to you being far away from here, and not to your wisdom which I don't question. I was referring to 3 million Palestinians, under the control of the State of Israel in Gaza (indirectly) and in the West Bank (by direct control of the military, and a separate legal system from the Jewish settlers). They are not Israeli citizens, and they don't vote to any political entity. They are people with no control of their lives - a unique case in democratic countries.

The Muslims in France are a headache, but - they are citizens with full rights. If they turn France into a Muslim country - too bad maybe, but this has nothing to do with the fact that all French have the right to decide on that, regardless of their religion. That's democracy, albeit not a perfect one.

Regarding condemning Arab states, or China - you didn't get my point.

THOSE ARE NOT DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES! Nobody expects them to act democratically, and there is no public opinion in those countries to be influenced by international pressure (at least, not in the same way as there is on democratic countries). That's the difference, get it?!...

You are justifying one evil by another, while we who live in democracies, are trying to fix the evil. That has not been the Jewish way for most of history - Jews have always been at the frontline of fighting against evil, even in non-democratic countries (and now you conservative Jews are withdrawing from that). These struggles are the environment in which democracies were born - as you said correctly, sometimes by blood baths, unfortunately.
